Class Overview

Curious to challenge yourself and your views? This session is intended for green building practitioners who would like to gain a new perspective, develop a deeper understanding of what outputs of the LCA process can be used to effectively communicate the value of environmental product information into product specifications for a sustainable built environment.

Objectives

 After attending this seminar, you will be able to understand

1. Understand and explain the distinction between energy savings, energy use, carbon dioxide emissions (“carbon”) and embodied carbon in various stages of LCA

2. Describe theoretical and real market examples of how LCA, EPD or (WBLCA) is used as a comparison tool for energy and health performance

3. Recognize and explain usability and challenges for practitioners in handling material credits and product selection in LEED v4.BD+C

4. Discuss the inter-connectivity of innovation and market drivers in product formulation development and building design.
