Energy Efficient Homes

This course provides a summary of much of the information learned in BKU to date, pulling together the systems and performance issues presented in previous Residential courses to explain how a house works as a system and how energy-efficiency has a direct impact on the health, safety, and security of a home. Having an understanding of how homes use energy is central in a Specialist's efforts to market Tyvek^® to builders. In particular, this course is designed to measure your understanding of the relationship between using Tyvek^® and energy savings in homes.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

• Describe the key features of an energy-efficient home
• Explain where energy is used in homes
• Describe how climate affects winter and summer energy use
• Identify how much energy is used in homes by percentage
• Summarize how much energy Tyvek^® saves compared to other energy-efficient building measures (EEMs)
